  • Position: Educator and Curriculum Developer

YOUR ROLE 

You will work directly with students from ages 7-12 in our in-person, DC Academy learning pod. Your role will be to actively facilitate anmanage students’ online learning that is completed through EPSB or ECSD. You will also provide expert one-to-one support for student schoolwork and create innovative and engaging STEAM project-based activities for the DC Academy students to extend their learning. In the summer, your role will shift to leading groups of students in various technology programs either online or in-person 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Facilitate and manage of students’ online classes for DC Academy learning pod(Students will be doing online learning from EPSB or ECSD). 
  • Develops lessons and executes STEAM project-based makerspace activities for DC Academy. 
  • Teach in-person and online summer and after-school Discover Coding programs 
  • Ensure projects adhere to company’s mission, values and policies  
  • Manage operations of online and in-person classes 
  • Work with a team to develop Discover Coding curriculum 
  • Integrate resources into a viable, growing organization  
  • Sets objectives for curriculum development projects or programs 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Level of Education: Bachelor of Education  
  • At least 2 years of teaching experience (Preferred) 
  • Experience working with students of all grades K-9 
  • Knowledge and experience with coding and technology learning or eager to learn more. 
  • Knowledge and experience with Curriculum development 
  • Eager to learn more about coding and technology

  • Position: Instructor  
  • Job type: Part-Time or Full-Time, Weekdays, Flexible 20-40 hours/week 
  • Location: Facilities in Edmonton and surrounding area

Your Role  

The instructor teaches both online camps and in-person camps, depending on the week. When in-person, the instructor works directly with children to lead them through a variety of activities both on and off computers. They also set up and take down summer camps in a variety of locations. Online camps are taught virtually from home or our office.  

 Responsibilities  

  • Teach our computer coding curriculum in-person and virtually  
  • Run programs with consistency and reliability  
  • Assess students’ progress using our provided assessments  
  • Report program updates to management  
  • Ensuring COVID Health and Safety protocols for the safety of staff and students. 

Other Responsibilities may include:  

  •  Building curriculum content  

Qualifications  

  • Education: Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Science or Engineering (Equivalencies may be considered)  
  • Teaching experience (Preferred)  
  • Experience working with students in grades K-9  
  • Knowledge and experience with coding and technology learning  
  • Knowledge and experience with curriculum development  
  • Eager to learn more about coding and technology  
  • Experience with Minecraft (Preferred)

  • Position: Marketing Specialist
  • Job type: temporary part-time, full-time (4-6 month term)

YOUR ROLE 

The Marketing Specialist will be responsible for executing effective marketing strategies, assisting with campaign development, analyzing the effectiveness of each campaign and developing our lead generation programs. The successful candidate will play an integral role in building and engaging the company’s customer base, and creating effective strategies that will promote the long-term growth of our company. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop and communicate marketing plans, campaign results and project recommendations to senior management team.
  • Develop marketing strategies for projects, including company websites and social media
  • Work closely with our social media and communications manager to develop, implement and manage our social media strategy. This includes scheduling and managing social media post, drafting, distributing press releases, creating blog posts.
  • Support marketing efforts through content on our website using WordPress
  • Analyze data to determine campaign efficiency.
  • Evaluate and research the benefits of different advertising methods that best fits our company
  • Ensure creative marketing materials undergo regular review and adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Create a plan for attracting new customers and then retaining them
  • Optimizes content following search engine optimization (SEO)

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising or related discipline.
  • Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics and web analysis tools
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills
  • A self-starter who takes initiative and driven to find answers, see project and tasks through to completion
  • Reliable, honest, and trustworthy and have strong integrity
  • Excited to come up with creative ideas
  • Time management, communication and organizational skills are essential
